Master Jimmy Kim passed peacefully last night at 8:40 pm at UCSD Medical Center.
Since May of 2022, Master Kim had been battling an uncommon and aggressive autoimmune disorder called Dermatomyositis that primarily attacked his lungs. He was hospitalized on Memorial Day due to breathing difficulty and low blood oxygen level and he was transferred to ICU last week until he passed.

On April 11, 1967, an American named Jimmy Young Kim was born. He practiced and taught taekwondo. At the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea in 1988, he took home the gold medal in the heavyweight division.
Kim obtained a biology bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley with a concentration in human physiology. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, he went on to get a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, now known as the Southern California University of Health Sciences.

After battling a rare and severe autoimmune condition called Dermatomyositis, Jimmy Young Kim passed away. As of May 2022, he has this illness identified.
On Memorial Day, Kim was brought into the hospital due to his difficulty breathing and low blood oxygen levels. Last Monday, he was transferred to the critical care unit (ICU), where he passed away.
