In KwaZulu-Natal, Paul Herbst served as the director of Medi Response, a private paramedic service. As a member of the Medi Response team operating under the Gift of The Givers brand, Herbst travelled to assist Turkey and Syria in the wake of the devastating earthquake that left thousands of people dead or missing.
According to a statement issued by Medi Response on Sunday, the team and other South African SAR experts arrived home on Saturday in the late afternoon.
